Student internships with industry

  • Student Internships in Industry are funded by SNEI (Strategic Network Enhancement Initiative). The Student Internship program provides opportunities for students to stay with WESNet industry partners for a duration of 4-6 months. WESNet and its industry partners will identify 8 projects for 8 positions of student internships in various engineering disciplines.
The following partners have expressed interest in hosting WESNet student interns:

  • WEICan
    - Wind Systems Technical Intern - Job Description
    - Small Wind Turbines Electrical Load Research Project - Description
  • Helimax
    Areas of particular interest to Helimax include:
    - Wind flow modelling using CFD.
    - Wind forecast modelling for complex terrain.
    - Remote sensing using LIDAR for offshore applications.

Student INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIPS

  • Student International Internships are funded by SNEI (Strategic Network Enhancement Initiative). These will provide WESNet graduate students opportunities for long term visits and internships with established international research laboratories, centres and groups. Four (4) internship positions will be planned per year for a duration of 4-6 months.
